Composition
Injection: Each ml contains Marbofloxacin BP 100 mg.
Bolus: Each bolus contains Marbofloxacin BP 50 mg.
Description
Ultibac Vet is a third-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and *Mycoplasma*. It acts through the inhibition of the bacterial DNA-gyrase enzyme and is formulated exclusively for veterinary use.
Indications
Livestock:
Ultibac Vet is indicated for the treatment of diseases caused by bacteria and Mycoplasma.
The formulation is specifically used for acute mastitis.
It additionally aids in managing diarrhea and gastroenteritis.
The product also helps resolve severe respiratory infections.
It is further utilized for neonatal gastroenteritis caused by *E. coli*.
Dosage & Administration
Route of Administration: IM, SC, or IV injection, or oral bolus.
Ultibac Vet Injection:
Respiratory Infections (Single Dose): 4 ml/50 kg body weight (8 mg/kg) IM.
Respiratory Infections (Multiple Dose): 1 ml/50 kg body weight (2 mg/kg) IM or SC for 3–5 days (divide doses >20 ml).
Acute Mastitis: 1 ml/50 kg body weight (2 mg/kg) IM or SC for 3 days (initial dose may be IV).
Ultibac Vet Bolus (Oral):
Standard Dose: 1 mg/kg daily for 3 days (or 2 boli per 100 kg daily).
Calves: 1 bolus/50 kg body weight for 3–5 consecutive days.
Dogs & Cats: 1 bolus/18 kg body weight for 3–5 consecutive days.
Or as directed by the registered veterinarian.
Precautions & Warnings
Do not use in animals with CNS (central nervous system) disorders, such as epilepsy, as it may cause seizures.
Withdrawal Period
Meat: 6 days, and Milk: 36 hours must not be consumed after administration.
