Composition
Each ml injectable solution contains Ivermectin BP 10 mg.
Indications
Livestock:
A-Mectin is indicated for the treatment and control of various internal and external parasites in cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats, and horses.
The formulation targets gastrointestinal roundworms, including Ostertagia, Haemonchus, Strongylus, Trichostrongylus, Metastrongylus, Strongyloides, Cooperia, Oesophagostomum, Bunostomum, Nematodirus, Mecistocirrus, Toxocara, Trichuris, Oxyuris, Parascaris, and Ancylostoma species.
It is additionally used for the management of lungworms such as Dictyocaulus viviparus, Dictyocaulus filaria, Dictyocaulus arnfieldi, and Protostrongylus rufescens.
The product effectively controls external parasites including flies like Hypoderma bovis, Hypoderma lineatum, and Chrysomya bovis.
It provides treatment against sucking lice such as Linognathus vituli, Haematopinus eurysternus, and Solenopotes capillatus.
The solution also eliminates biting lice including Damalinia species.
Furthermore, it treats mange mites such as Psoroptes ovis, Sarcoptes scabiei var. bovis, Chorioptes, Demodex, Otodectes, and Notoedres.
It is also effective against ticks such as Boophilus and Ornithodoros.
The formulation is additionally indicated for the treatment and control of hump sore caused by Stephanofilaria assamensis in cattle.
Dosage & Administration
Route of Administration: SC injection only (under loose skin of shoulder).
Ruminants: 1 ml/50 kg body weight (0.2 mg/kg) as a single dose (repeat after 28 days for humpsore).
Dogs: 0.5 ml/2.5 kg body weight (Otodectic mange: 1 injection; Sarcoptic mange: 2 injections at 14-day intervals; Demodectic mange/fleas: 3 injections at 7-day intervals).
Cats: 0.5 ml/2.5 kg body weight (0.2 mg/kg) as a single injection.
Horses: 1 ml/50 kg body weight (0.2 mg/kg) as a single injection.
Or as directed by the veterinary physician.
Side Effects
Transitory discomfort has been observed in some animals following SC administration. A low incidence of tissue swelling at the injection site has been observed.
Precautions & Warnings
A Mectin injection is not for intravenous or intramuscular use. Ivermectin is 10 times safer than the normal dose in ruminants and dogs. It is also safe in breeding and pregnant animals.
Storage Conditions
Store in a cool and dry place. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
Withdrawal Period
Meat: 21 days and Milk: 28 days must not be consumed after administration.
