Composition
Each gram powder contains Piperazine Citrate USP 1,000 mg.
Description
Peravet (piperazine citrate) is an anthelmintic indicated for the treatment of parasitic infestations in poultry and livestock. It is active against adult forms as well as developmental stages of susceptible nematodes. Peravet acts by inducing flaccid paralysis in the parasites, allowing them to be naturally expelled from the gastrointestinal tract via normal peristaltic movements.

Dosage & Administration
Route of Administration: For oral administration only.
Or as directed by registered veterinary physician.
Interaction
Laxative: Concurrent use of piperazine & laxative may reduce the activity of piperazine. Pyrantel/morantel: Piperazine and pyrantel/morantel have antagonistic effects and should not be used together.
Contraindications
Contraindicated to birds/animals hypersensitive to Piperazine.
Side Effects
Common: diarrhoea, emesis, ataxia, and softening of the face. Uncommon: None reported.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnant animals: Peravet (Piperazine) is safe to use in pregnant animals. Lactating animals: None reported. However, the risk and necessity should be considered during administration of this medicine in pregnant animals.
Precautions & Warnings
Food and drinking water should be stopped for 12 hours after administration of the drug.
Storage Conditions
Store below 30°C in a dry place. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
Withdrawal Period
Poultry — Meat: 2 days; Egg: 2 days. Livestock — Meat: 15 days; Milk: 1 day.
