Toltacox
SolutionComposition
Each ml solution contains Toltrazuril 25 mg.
Description
Toltacox (toltrazuril) is a triazinetrione derivative utilized for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in poultry and turkeys. Light and electron microscopic studies demonstrate that toltrazuril is active against all intracellular developmental stages of coccidia, including schizonts, microgamonts, and macrogamonts. The compound interferes with protozoal nuclear division, disrupts mitochondrial function, and damages wall-forming bodies in microgametes, thereby exhibiting a distinctly coccidicidal rather than coccidiostatic mode of action. Toltrazuril acts across all intracellular stages without inhibiting the development of natural immunity, precluding the need for follow-up treatment. Its clinical efficacy adapts to the severity of the infection. Furthermore, it is fully compatible with standard feed additives and medication, exhibiting no adverse effects on feed and water intake, weight gain, or the feed conversion ratio.
