Meloxicam + Paracetamol
Composition
Injection: Each ml contains Meloxicam BP 20 mg and Paracetamol BP 150 mg.
Bolus: Each bolus contains Meloxicam BP 100 mg and Paracetamol BP 1,500 mg.
Description
Mel-Vet Plus is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam family. It acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. Meloxicam also possesses anti-endotoxic properties. Paracetamol serves as an antipyretic agent, reducing fever by depressing the heat-regulatory centers in the hypothalamus.

Livestock:
Dosage & Administration
Route of Administration: IM, IV, SC injection, or oral.
Or as directed by the registered Veterinary Physician.
Interaction
With medicine: May cause increased likelihood of bleeding if use in conjunction with. Corticosteroids, Heparin, Warfarin, Aspirin, Flunixin & Phenylbutazone. No interaction known with feed or food.
Contraindications
Animals less than six weeks old. Animals hypersensitive to Meloxicam. Contraindicated in animals with impaired renal, hepatic, and cardiac function.
Side Effects
A slight transient swelling at the injection site following SC injection may be seen. Prolonged use may cause gastrointestinal lesions, inappetence, vomiting, and diarrhoea.
Pregnancy & Lactation
No data are available for the combination of Meloxicam and Paracetamol for use in pregnant and lactating animals. So, risk and necessity should be considered during administration of medicine in pregnant and lactating animals.
Precautions & Warnings
Do not administer concurrently with steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Storage Conditions
Store below 30°C in a dry place. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
Withdrawal Period
Meat: 15 days and Milk: 5 days must not be consumed after administration.
