Amoxicillin

Composition

Each vial contains 106 gm Amoxicillin Sodium equivalent to 10 gm Amoxicillin.

Indications

Animals:

Moxacil-Vet is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by penicillin-sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
The formulation is effective against various conditions, including mastitis, metritis, gastroenteritis, salmonellosis, calf scour, bronchopneumonia, pharyngitis, umbilical infection, foot rot, fever, campylobacteriosis, urinary tract infection, blackleg, hemorrhagic septicemia, and joint infection.
Acting as a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic, it is highly effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
The product is rapidly absorbed following subcutaneous or intramuscular injection.
It diffuses readily into most body tissues and fluids before being excreted unchanged in the urine.
Laboratory animal reproduction studies have shown no evidence of adverse effects on the fetus.
No side effects are observed when administered at the recommended dose.

Dosage & Administration

Route of Administration: IM or SC injection. Reconstitute with 10 ml sterile WFI.

Cattle: 6 to 11 mg/kg body weight once or twice daily (20 kg: 15–20 ml; 40 kg: 25–40 ml; 100 kg: 60–90 ml; 120 kg: 80–100 ml).
Dog & Cat: 5 to 11 mg/kg body weight thrice daily for 2–3 days (10 kg: 10–20 ml; 20 kg: 20–40 ml).

Contraindications

Moxacil Vet injection is contraindicated in animals hypersensitive to the active ingredient.

Side Effects

No adverse effects are expected if this product is used in accordance with the label. Some symptoms of overexposure that can arise are blurred vision, weakness, giddiness, sweating, muscular twitching, spasms, miosis, and respiratory paralysis. It can be absorbed through the skin and may irritate the eyes as well.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Moxacil Vet injection is safe during pregnancy and the lactating period.

Precautions & Warnings

Keep in a dry, cool place. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children. Drug Interaction: Bacteriostatic antibiotics may decrease the efficacy of Moxacil Vet Injection by depressing the activity of target cells. Withdrawal period: Meat 25 days and Milk 3 days 6 hours.
