Trilev-Vet®
BolusComposition
Each bolus contains Triclabendazole INN 900 mg and Levamisole BP 600 mg equivalent to Levamisole HCl BP 708 mg.
Description
Trilev-Vet combines two active pharmaceutical ingredients with complementary mechanisms of action. Levamisole acts as a cholinergic agent that stimulates ganglia and depolarizes parasite muscle tissue. This dual effect induces muscular paralysis, preventing the worms from maintaining their station in the host gut, leading to their subsequent expulsion. Triclabendazole, a benzimidazole derivative, is highly effective against all developmental stages of liver flukes, ranging from 1-day-old immature forms to adults. Benzimidazoles bind to beta-tubulin, a critical structural protein, thereby blocking the polymerization of tubulin into microtubules. This disruption compromises cellular integrity and essential transport functions within the parasite, ultimately resulting in parasite death.
