Composition

Each 10 g powder contains Sulphaclozine Sodium (Monohydrate) INN 3 g.

Description

SCZ Vet is a broad-spectrum sulfonamide. It acts as a folic acid antagonist by preventing the conversion of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) to folic acid, which is essential for the survival and replication of bacteria and coccidia.

Indications

Poultry:

SCZ Vet is indicated for the control and treatment of all types of coccidiosis, fowl cholera, and fowl typhoid in poultry.

Dosage & Administration

Route of Administration: For oral administration only.

Treatment (Broiler/Layer): 1.5–2.0 g/L of drinking water for 3–5 days (severe cases: 2.5 g/L or 20–25 g/kg feed).
Control (Broiler): 1 g/L of drinking water at 3rd and 5th week of age for 3 consecutive days.
Control (Layer): 1 g/L of drinking water at 3rd and 5th week, and at start of lay for 3 consecutive days.

Or as directed by the registered veterinary physician.

Contraindications

Hemorrhagic syndrome may be observed in certain cases.

Side Effects

Common: GI distress. Rare: Sulphaclozine can precipitate in the urine, particularly when given at high dosages for prolonged periods.

Precautions & Warnings

Please do not allow fresh water during the treatment period. After use, close the sachet properly and use as early as possible.

Storage Conditions

Store below 30°C in a dry place. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.

Withdrawal Period

Meat: 3 days and Eggs: 4 days must not be consumed after administration.
