Each gram contains Methenamine USP 950 mg, Thiamine hydrochloride (Vitamin B1) 8 mg and Riboflavin BP (Vitamin B2) 1 mg and Menadione sodium bisulfite BP (Vitamin K3) 2 mg.
Description
Nefguard Vet contains methenamine, a urinary antiseptic that is rapidly absorbed from the intestines. Once dissolved in urine, methenamine is converted into formaldehyde, a highly effective antiseptic agent, while also exhibiting diuretic activity. Additionally, the formulation includes vitamins B1 and B2, which play an essential role in managing metabolic disorders caused by various diseases and conditions, alongside vitamin K, which helps prevent bleeding.

Interaction
With medicine: Methenamine reacts with sulfonamides and is converted into insoluble sulfonamide formaldehyde sediments. So, methenamine and sulfonamides should not be used together. With food & others: None reported.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in poultry and livestock hypersensitive to any ingredients of Nefguard Vet.
Side Effects
Common GIT disorders, nausea, vomiting, and anorexia. Rare: Painful urination may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation
No teratogenic effects were observed in the animal during pregnancy. In dairy animals, Methenamine is excreted through milk, but no adverse effects have been observed. However, it should be used in pregnant and lactating animals, considering the necessity and risks.
Precautions & Warnings
Cannot be used in animals and poultry with severely impaired liver and kidney functions and suffering from severe dehydration.
