Intamycin Vet
InjectionComposition
Each ml contains Gentamicin Sulfate BP equivalent to 100 mg Gentamicin.
Description
Intamycin Vet contains gentamicin, a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic active against Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococci, Streptococci, and Corynebacterium species, as well as various Gram-negative bacteria. It binds to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. The benefits of this injection include a bactericidal effect at low doses, rapid tissue distribution, and prolonged activity in major organs. It serves as a drug of first choice in cases of resistance to other antibiotics such as oxytetracycline, chloramphenicol, and sulphonamides, and significantly reduces early chick and pullet mortality.
