Composition
Each gm powder contains Gentamicin Sulfate BP equivalent to Gentamicin 200 mg.
Indications
Poultry:
Genacyn-Vet 20 is indicated for the treatment of diseases caused by different Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, enteritis, yolk sac disease, and fowl cholera.
The formulation is also used for the reduction of early chick mortality due to bacterial infections in newly hatched chicks.
It is additionally prescribed for the treatment of different respiratory diseases such as mycoplasmosis, CRD, and CCRD.
Cattle, Sheep, Goat, and Buffalo:
Genacyn-Vet 20 is indicated for the management of pyometra, hemorrhagic septicemia, PPR, respiratory tract infection, and urinary tract infection.
Dosage & Administration
Route of Administration: Oral via drinking water.
Poultry: 1 g/2 L of drinking water for 3–5 days.
Cattle, Sheep, Goat & Buffalo: 3 g/20 kg body weight twice daily for 3–5 days.
Or as directed by the registered veterinarian.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in animals having impaired renal function and hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside antibiotics.
Side Effects
Prolonged intake at higher doses may cause neurotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, and ototoxicity.
Storage Conditions
Store below 30°C. Protect from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
Withdrawal Period
7 days before slaughtering.
