Composition

Bolus: Each bolus contains Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride USP equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 1 g.
Injection: Each ml contains Ciprofloxacin Lactate INN equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 50 mg.
Oral Solution: Each ml contains Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride BP equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 100 mg.

Description

Beuflox Vet contains ciprofloxacin, a member of the fluoroquinolone class, which exhibits powerful bactericidal activity by inhibiting DNA gyrase, the enzyme responsible for bacterial DNA supercoiling. It is a time-tested, broad-spectrum antibiotic.

Indications

Livestock:

Beuflox Vet is indicated for the treatment of digestive and respiratory infections caused by *Actinobacillus*, *Pasteurella*, *Streptococcus*, and *Bordetella*.
The formulation also provides treatment for diarrhea caused by *E. coli* and *Salmonella* susceptible to Ciprofloxacin.
It is additionally used for enterotoxemia, skin, bone, and ear infections, as well as anthrax.
The product is further utilized to manage uterine infections, udder infections, and urinary tract infections.

Dosage & Administration

Route of Administration: Oral

Cattle, Calf & Goat: ½–1 bolus per 100–200 kg of body weight (5 mg/kg body weight) twice daily for 3–5 days.

Or as directed by a registered veterinary physician.

Interaction

This combination should not be used with Pyrantel, Morantel, and Diethylcarbamazine.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Intravenous doses of Ciprofloxacin of up to 20 mg/kg of body weight in pregnant rats and mice have not shown evidence of maternal toxicity, embryotoxicity, or teratogenic effects. Ciprofloxacin can be distributed into milk, sometimes at a higher concentration than in plasma, but it is not known under which conditions it occurs.

Precautions & Warnings

It should be used with caution in animals or poultry with suspected or known CNS disorders.
