Description

Betaine is a functional nutrient commonly used as a feed additive in animal nutrition, mainly as a methyl donor. In the past, betaine was available as betaine anhydrous extracted from sugar beets. Nowadays, it is present in different chemical forms and produced by different methods. Compared with betaine, Betaine Hydrochloride is better in anti-caking, hygroscopicity, and fluidity.

Indications

Livestock:

Betain-Vet is indicated for enhancing stress resistance by participating in immune regulation through antibody generation and macrophage phagocytic activity, notably against heat stress and coccidian infection stress.
The formulation also serves to save methionine and reduce feed costs by acting as a primary methyl donor in methylation reactions to partially replace methionine.
It is additionally used for regulating osmotic pressure to maintain cell water balance during external osmotic disruptions by stabilizing enzyme activity and biomacromolecules.
The product further protects weanling pigs against diarrhea.
The formulation is also indicated for decreasing back fat thickness in hogs, increasing the lean meat percentage, and reducing fat content in animal livers.

Poultry:

Betain-Vet is indicated for enhancing stress resistance, notably against heat stress and coccidian infection stress.
The formulation also saves methionine to cut feed costs.
It is additionally used to regulate osmotic pressure and maintain cell water balance, which improves the curative effects of anticoccidial drugs.
The product further improves meat quality by decreasing the abdomen fat rate, increasing pectoral muscle yield, and preventing fatty liver in poultry.

Aquatic Animals:

Betain-Vet is indicated for enhancing stress resistance, particularly against high humidity, high salt, and high permeation in seawater for shrimp larvae.
The formulation also regulates osmotic pressure to maintain cell water balance and ionic balance.
It is additionally used for preventing fatty liver in aquatic animals.
The product further stimulates smell and taste receptors in fish and shrimp as an ideal phagostimulant.
The formulation also improves feed palatability, promotes ingestion, shortens ingestion time, increases feed utilization rates, and reduces water pollution.

Dosage & Administration

Route of Administration: Oral through feed or drinking water. Add to feed or drinking water immediately before administration.

Poultry: 0.5–1 kg per ton of complete feed or 1 g per L of drinking water for 25–30 days.
Fish: 2–3 kg per ton of complete feed.
Rabbit: 1–2 kg per ton of complete feed.

Or as directed by a registered veterinary physician.

Precautions & Warnings

During preparation, please evenly mix the product. The product is hygroscopic and shall be placed in a dry, shaded, and ventilated place. After it is opened, if the product isn’t fully used, the remainder shall be sealed for storage. During storage and transport, the product shall be protected against package breakage, dampness, rain, and sunlight. It is forbidden to store or transport with toxic or hazardous substances.

Store below 25°C in a cool and dry place. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
